Leaves, Leaves, Leaves
I projected a leaf on the screen. Students took their time and drew the leaf with a black sharpie marker. They painted the leaf with watercolour paints. When it is dry we will continue to add to this project. The students love to work with watercolour paints. They take their time and do a really nice job.
Patterns, Patterns, Patterns
We have been studying a lot of different types of patterns. Patterns with movement and patterns with sound. Patterns with shapes, colours, and sizes. Patterns using position. Many of the patterns we have created are patterns in a straight line. Today we read a story about swirls. We looked at the beautiful pictures and all the patterns in nature. Then we created a pattern that was not in a straight line using loose parts.
Leaf Man
We read this fabulous book called, "Leaf, Man." The students were given a pressed leaf, two google eyes, and a piece of red pipe cleaner. They used loose parts to create a setting for their story. Then they created a leaf man story.
Christmas Advent chain
On Friday we made a Christmas advent chain so we can count down the days until Christmas day. The students had to use their counting skills, AB pattern skills and fine motor skills to cut out the Christmas tree and create each loop for their chain.
Moustache Day
Friday was a school-wide moustache day. We look fantastic in our moustaches!
Silly moustache -so much fun.!
