Here is our dance you could practice
Muddypaws
Muddypaws continues his adventures visiting different houses each weekend. Last weekend he played in his tent and he was lucky enough to get a new squeaky toy. He loves his new toy and the fun he had.
The Three Little Pigs
We read several different versions of The Three Little Pigs.
Three Little pig Drama
The students worked in groups to create the props, decide how they would do their play, and then perform for the class. I am so sorry about the sound. The students did such a great job but the sound quality is so poor it is hard to hear them. We will be doing another skit in the third term.
Waltes
This week we learned a new number game that originated from the First Peoples of Canada. Each set of partners got six discs with a design on one side and plain on the other. They tap the plate with the discs on the table and then count how many discs are facing up or facing down. If you get 5 or six facing the same way you get a point and an extra turn. If one disc falls off the plate you lose a turn. The sticks are used to keep track of your score. The first partner to get 10 wins the game. It is a great way to practice number sense and the students enjoyed it.
St. Patrick's day
To celebrate St. Patrick's Day we read several stories about leprechauns. We used directed drawing to draw a leprechaun. Students used pastels to colour the leprechaun and watercolour paints to fill in the background.
Leprechaun Traps
The students drew out a plan, gathered materials, and set to work on building a leprechaun trap. We each shared out trap with the class by showing how the trap works and items used to entice the leprechaun to check out the trap. At the end of the day we set out our traps and laid out some candy to encourage the leprechaun to check out the traps. We are hoping to catch a leprechaun tonight!
